INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON HOT AND DENSE MATTER IN RELATIVISTIC HEAVY ION COLLISIONS March 24-27, 2004 Budapest, Hungary |
Csontvári-Kosztka, Tivadar: "Pilgrimage to the Cedars in Lebanon" |
This Workshop is organized with the aim to bring together specialists in the field of hot and dense strong interacting matter, hadronization in heavy-ion collisions, chiral restoration and dynamics of hadronic matter. The Workshop offers a possibility for theoretical physicists to display their results and to discuss them in detail. We intend to invite a few experimentalists as well, to show and summarize the most interesting recent results and future perspectives in heavy ion collisions at different energies. We plan to schedule several topical sessions consisting of about 4-5 lectures lasting 30 minutes leaving ample time for discussions. Attendance will be limited to 35 participants actively working in the fields listed below:
- Phase transitions of nuclear matter
- Hadron properties in dense partonic and hadronic matter
- Dynamics of heavy ion collisions
- Testing hot dense colored matter in experiments
- Hadronization of parton gas and quark matter
- Future experiments (ALICE, Future GSI Facility)
We expect participants to arrive on March 23 (Tuesday). The Workshop will begin on March 24 (Wednesday) and will adjourn on March 27 (Saturday) in the late afternoon.
The basic participation fee is estimated to 200 EUR, including all meals from March 24 morning until March 28 morning, banquet and Proceedings. At the Hotel Sunlight the participants will receive a special rate of 120 EUR/4 nights in a single room or 80 EUR/4 nights/person with double occupancy.
Budapest offers a wide variety of cultural events during the workshop. The famous Spring Festival is held during the second half of March. In case of interest, we can reserve tickets for the events, note that for several performances the tickets are sold out very early. Budapest Spring Festival 2004 .
